Activists in Nigeria and Europe Demand Transparency from Total after Divestment Announcement

Following the announcement of the oil company Total that it is selling part of its petroleum assets in the Niger Delta, four organizations in Nigeria and Europe are taking legal action against the parent company of the corporation.

The groups are demanding more information about how a legacy of environmental damage will be addressed and how those affected will be compensated.

The groups are Friends of the Earth France, Hawkmoth, HEDA Resource Centre and Social Action, supported by The Corner House and ReCommon.
